Bill Beaumont new chairman of English RFU
Former England, British and Irish Lions captain Bill Beaumont has been appointed the new chairman of the English Rugby Football Union.
The 60-year-old Beaumont takes over from Paul Murphy, who shifts to RFU president.
Beaumont says on Sunday he's honored to take up the role, adding "I was fortunate enough to captain my country and everything since then has been about putting something back into a game that is important to so many people."

Beaumont won 34 test caps for England from 1975-82 as a lock and led his country to a first Grand Slam in 33 years in 1980. He also captained the Lions on their tour of South Africa the same year.
"The RFU staff and thousands of volunteers face three years of hard work ahead," said Beaumont.
"The legacy of England hosting the rugby World Cup in 2015 will be enormous."
Murphy, who had been serving as acting chairman of the RFU since Martyn Thomas's resignation in July last year , said: "We've made enormous strides on and off the pitch in the last six months and I'm sure Bill will lead us forward to realise our full potential over the next few years."
